LT McGuinness and Te Rūnanga o Toa Rangatira (Ngāti Toa) have formed a unique partnership called Rāranga to grow and develop skilled workers and future leaders of the Aotearoa construction industry. Rāranga’s aim is to grow the pool of trained staff for the construction industry to meet a shortage of skilled construction workers, while also providing learning and development pathways within Ngāti Toa iwi members.
Rāranga is a 50/50 joint venture to provide a stable pathway and employment growth and encourages future Māori businesses. Together we will implement a program that provides an end-to-end journey that takes participants through levels of attainment in physical and mental well-being, training and skill acquisition, and ultimately employment in the construction industry.
We believe LT McGuinness and Ngāti Toa Rangatira are perfectly positioned to create a partnership that plays to the strengths of us both: Ngāti Toa Rangatira providing their people, cultural identity, and mentoring; while LT McGuinness provides skills and trade training, systems, and a pathway to employment with our future projects. The partnership will have a base at Te Rūnanga o Toa Rangatira offices at Whitireia Polytech campus in Porirua.
