The Learning Hub is currently under construction at St Patrick’s College, Wellington, as part of a 10-year Modernisation and Resilience Masterplan to provide resilient and innovative learning spaces. The Hub, which will provide student support, flexible breakout and learning areas, and a link between Egden and Watters Blocks, is scheduled for completion for the start of the 2024 college year.
Earlier the project included significant enabling works so the accommodation building and the Chanel Block could be demolished. The project is progressing well, while good planning and clear communication between LTM site management and the college have been important in ensuring school operations continue with minimal disruption.
When the Learning Hub is completed, it is expected that works will commence on the seismic strengthening of the Egden Block to further enhance the resilience of the college campus.
