On gaining a Bachelor of Architectural Studies degree from Victoria University, Natalie worked as an architectural technician for a retirement home provider. However, she was keen to gain a better understanding of construction, ‘to see how buildings come to life’ and that led to her current role as BIM Manager. The move has worked out well, Natalie says, as she’s spent more time on sites in her first 12 months than ever before. BIM is becoming more common in construction generally and it’s important to get in early with pre-start meetings and explain processes to people, she says. Natalie has two pre-schoolers and enjoys outdoor activities such as diving. Approachable and a problem solver who collaborates well with others, Natalie has worked on major projects such as the Future Accommodation Strategy at Parliament and 90 Devonport in Tauranga.
