Nick’s natural humour and imposing personality make him one of the company’s characters. He joined us when our total workforce comprised Jim, Peter, Brian, seven staff and a couple of subbies. He completed a carpentry apprenticeship and, over several decades, developed extensive experience in structural construction, especially concrete, and became a master of cranage in Wellington’s winds. Before his semi-retirement, Nick’s big jobs included Aurora House, Bowen campus, and St Mary of the Angels, where his faith in its re-strengthening prompted him to say he would shelter there in the event of another earthquake. Nick is now involved in charitable work with the Home of Compassion.
